Case study: Fifteen
Developing leaders on a mission
Leadership Level: Senior & Middle Management + TeamsCoaching Need: Management (individual and team), performance and energy
“a phenomenal support to me and the team…has helped me to dig deep and realise what I want to achieve and how to get there. I recognise now how my energy is mirrored by that of my team and how to use it to motivate and inspire those around me.”
LL, Assistant General Manager
Introduction
Fifteen restaurant needs to be both commercially successful and also fulfil its social mission. This mission gives the business a unique buzz which needs to be reflected in the energy and output of the restaurant management and teams.
Challenge
Fifteen can only achieve its mission if it continues to deliver exceptional results and enjoy sustained commercial success. The management team must find new ways to lead, inspire and motivate their teams and deliver results. This requires not just an injection of energy, but also sustained ways of topping up this energy.
Solution
Fifteen asked Genergy’s Lisa Mitchell to develop 4 key individuals and to train the core management team as a group.
-
From Manager To Leader: 4 of the management team received 1-on-1 coaching. They learned to lead better by managing their own state, owning what they were really capable of and having the confidence to lead from there.
-
Harnessing The Group: the management team were trained together as a group to teach them how to coach and how to manage their personal impact. This gave them greater skills and also fostered better relationships and greater effectiveness as a team.
-
Same People, Better Teams: the managers learned how to tap into their own potential and energy to get better results from their teams.
-
Positive Energy: the team learned how to see the potential in any situation and how a shift in perspective could radically improve the restaurant atmosphere and service to customers.
-
Sustainable Success: the managers learned how to manage their own energy so that they didn’t get ‘burnt out’ and could work sustainably and with less stress.
“As Executive Head Chef here at Fifteen London, my role is crucial to the success of the business. It can be high pressured and pretty demanding at times. Lisa’s coaching skills have turned my approach to work around. Without this coaching, I really don’t think I would have achieved my business objectives. I am now a better communicator, have self confidence and am leading my team on a completely new level”
AP, Executive Head Chef
